Writing....hmph

Yesterday was a rather impressive day for our family...
My cousin, Jillian Grace Turner, graduated from High School...FINALLY!!
It was a beautiful ceremony and I enjoyed it immensely. She had a duet with one of her friends, Addie Presson, and they did a wonderful job on their song.  I enjoyed the song second to the end also( in the prelude) "The Prayer" sang by two more of her friends, Abbi Benke and Trevor Chadwick.... it was BEAUTIFUL!  So many of the students have an overwhelming talent in singing...and that is a marvelous thing...to have a school where they can go to help those talents grow.  I sometimes wish I had, had that kind of opportunity with my writing...since they writing classes their also.  I don't believe ANY of those kid truly understand how truly blessed they are to have that place. I really don't.

Afterwards, we went to dinner at Johnny Corinio's and it was a rather big group of us... at least we had a room all to ourselves. I sat with Adam(Jillian's boyfriend), my younger cousin Blake, Jillian and her friend Tabitha...let's just say that in itself was fun.
Seeing Adam and Jillian together is quite sweet, and quite vomit worthy for me....I mean that in the nicest possible way. REALLY!  They are by far the cutest couple I have ever seen. They are seriously PERFECT for each other and I hope they can stay together through college...going to separate colleges.

My writing keeps taking a back seat to everything else right now...and I hate that...I should PROBABLY be writing on my novel rather than this...but I like letting people know what's going on...so that's why I'm doing it. However, now I'm going to stop...baha.

PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES

So I saw "Pirates" this morning at midnight, and I must say I was pleasantly surprised by it.  I had a great deal more humor(which I enjoyed) and it wasn't as LONG as the last two(which I also enjoyed). I'm a die hard Pirates fan, as ANYONE who is close to me knows, and it's MAINLY because of Johnny Depp.(because I'm also a die hard Depp fan) I never read what critics have to say about movies I love, because then it would ruin it for me...plus they aren't usually right. ;)

School has been over for me for a week, and I miss it. WEIRD right? I can't wait for the fall so I can take more classes. :) I know this is weird coming from the girl who has despised school for a good portion of my life...but I suppose when you go for what you love...then it has a completely meaning behind it. :) I miss my Creative Writing class and everyone in it. At least I can read their blogs so I can keep up with what they are up to. Side note, I have an Irish pen pal...and I must say it's been a blessing to have him. He is also a writer..and we are I suppose friends...that's all there can be..that's all I will let myself BELIEVE there can be now...because once again, ANYONE who knows me, KNOWS how I can get my hopes up, and I refuse to do that.  Also, anyone close to me knows, I have this dream of marrying an Irish man...so THUS why I will not allow myself to get my hopes up in the LEAST bit. ;)

I'm searching for another job...mainly because of the fact that I have two employees trying to remove me...literally from the store. I LOVE most of the people I work with, so that has NOTHING to do with it. It's the fact that they are out to get me...and I have never dealt well with people with that kind of nature. My Irish temper seems to get the best of me most days and I have to literally bite my tongue to keep myself from putting a ginormous boot in my mouth.(which happens more than I'd like to admit)  My friend, Mariah Lewis, told me about a job opening at her job, I applied, and they called me yesterday to tell me they filled THAT position, BUT that they are going to be having data entry positions opening up, and told me that she would pass my resume to the supervisors for those positions so I could possibly get one of those. There is also a job fair at a new store called Buy, Buy, Baby(that my sister Monique told me about MONTHS ago) on Tuesday that I will be going to.(since I don't work) I will also be looking at Texas Roadhouse to see if I can apply there and a couple other restaurants in the area. I don't necessarily want to go back to the food industry, but I made the most money I've ever made in a year at a restaurant...plus the shifts for any of the jobs I'm looking at would allow me time to write. Which is what I want to do most.

My insecurity with myself make it hard to write some days...I can't lie about that. I may have the up most intention of writing on my novel...or short stories...but my insecurity will get the best of me and make it impossible for me to sit down and write. I hate that about myself....I've ALWAYS had issues with that, and now that I KNOW that this is what I want to do...it's even harder. Which makes sense...but I have to push through. It helps knowing I have my family behind me though. Having their support is the most amazing thing, and helps me stride through whatever crap I'm going through.

I need to go, and take a shower(yes I'm still in my pj's), eat lunch and get ready for my shift tonight. I get to work with my favorite Sales Lead, Candice, so work will be fun this evening. :)
Everyone have a wonderful Friday.

ONE DAY....

I feel as though my world is not making much sense again...
I despise this feeling with an overwhelming passion...and yet I have NO control over what is happening...

Once I feel as though my life is on the right track, something horrible happens..and I can't do anything to stop it. It's like a severe thunderstorm...I can sometimes SEE it coming, and can brace for it...others it hits me like a fist hitting my face. I'm thrown back and not quite certain of what to make of it all.

One day...everything will take it's place in my life...where I'm supposed to be, what I'm supposed to do while I'm there, and I'll be happy.
Not this roller coaster horrid ride of happiness and depression over and over.

One day, I will be a best selling author, I know that will happen...but WHEN it will happen and HOW it will happen I don't know.
My job...a my job is depressing me...and I hate that. I LOVED my job when I started...but that all changed when our store manager up and left and broke "promises" to a lot of people. Now we are left with wicked witches...of the east and west and I'm in their sights to get rid of....
The devil just loves doing this to me...I've had it at TWO jobs horribly bad and it depressed me and nearly made me go back to a nervous habit I had in high school. I REFUSE to do that again...but I can't quit until I have another job. I dont' have enough money in my account to do so...and that in itself is SUCK worthy.

On the upside...I'm healthy and have an amazing family who supports me in my dreams and helps me to NOT lose sight of them...which is VERY HARD at this percise moment.

On another upside, it's summer now officially for me so that means a summer of trying to see the movies I've been looking forward too. Starting with "Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides". :D I'm sooo EXCITED about this movie...it's my favorite movie franchise besides "Harry Potter" and that ends this summer. :(

This has been yet another rambling session...but I do feel somewhat better. NOW it's back to the job drawing board...and HOPEFULLY I can find SOME time to write between all this CRAP!

What to do...

sheesh....
I guess I should start with saying that I FINALLY achieved the goal I set for myself a LONG time ago. I got my first 4.o GPA this semester...pretty huge since it took me forever to realize I could get there.
Second thing I suppose I should post is that I'm sorta kinda sad the semester is over. I'm going to miss my Creative Writing teacher/class a great deal. They were all such great people, and pushed me to do my best and not be afraid to put myself out there. Which has always been hard for me.

NOW, I could use a great amount of prayer. I'm not sure WHO all reads this, but if you could pray for me I would appreciate it. My job...has turned into a living hell. Almost worst than that of my old job at Macaroni Grill...which is saying A LOT!
Please pray that God will show me what to do. I know what I WANT to do, I want to write. Finish my novel and earn money doing it.. BUT that doesn't happen overnight, and just sitting on my butt writing doesn't pay the bills right now.
I've been feeling depressed lately....and I despise that, because that's NOT me anymore. I don't want to be that person. I don't want to be the wicked witch of the west either, which is how I feel lately...which isn't ALRIGHT!
So if everyone could say a short prayer for me...not to lose my stinking mind...I would greatly appreciate it.

I saw "Thor" last night, and it was pretty good. Not as good as "Iron Man" but it wasn't bad at all. PLUS, I got to run into Danny Bates, someone who I was not expecting to see at the theater. We got to chat a little and I'm so GLAD that I got to see him. He's doing EVERYTHING he's ever wanted to in his life, and it makes me realize I have to stop just SITTING on my BUTT WAITING for things to happen. I have to make them happen...which is out of my comfort zone...but if I want to become an author...I have to get out of my comfort zone.

This has pretty much been a rambling session...sorry about that. I'll write when I get back from work....at 4 something.

ONE WEEK....

ONE WEEK UNTIL "PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN: ON STRANGER TIDES" hits theaters at MIDNIGHT!! Which means I have one week left to wait. :D If you couldn't tell I'm a tad bit excited about the whole thing. :)

It's been a tradition since the first one came out that I see it the DAY it comes out, whether at midnight or the actual day of. It's also been a tradition to see them with my momma...and Jillian(my cousin) HOWEVER, the last one...Jillian and I didn't get to see it together. We'll make up for it this year though. :D It's also become a tradition that I buy a new "Pirates" shirt AND "Pirates" poster with every movie that comes out. So I purchased the shirt yesterday...and now I just need the poster. If  you couldn't tell bloggers..."Pirates of the Caribbean" is a MAJOR obsession of mine...along with Johnny Depp, Harry Potter, and ANYTHING Disney. :)

I have my last final at NOON today, and I'm not worried about it at all, except for the mere thought that my voice has been going in and out all morning. So hopefully I'll have my voice to do my presentation. If not...not sure what I'm going to do. :/

My current job...isn't as marvelous as it once was and my hours at this job...are lacking. They keep cutting back and now I'm having to do another job search... which is ridiculous if you ask me, but I'm hoping God will help show me what to do. He always does so hopefully this will be no different.
I guess that's all I really have to say for now.

Already TWO weeks into May...

Is it just me or is this year just flying by? I mean...seriously!! It's already the second week of May and that means the rest of summer is just around the corner!(which is a WONDERFUL thing)

I guess I should start with Mother's Day. :) It was a marvelous day, spend with family, and this was ACTUALLY the first Mother's Day, I've actually gotten to spend the whole day with my mom, in about 3 years. I blame the food industry for that indiscretion. :P It was nice to be able to go out to eat(@ Papasitos no less) for lunch with my momma, sister, brother in-law, grandparents, aunt, uncle, and two of my cousins. I felt so blessed to be able to that, since I hadn't been able to in such a long time. After lunch, I dropped my grandparents off at their house, then ended up staying there for a bit, and talking to my sister, momma, and nana. THEN, my momma, sister and I went to go look at a house., :) It's gorgeous and VERY much resembles EVERYTHING my sister has ever wanted in a house. I'm praying for her and Michael(brother in-law) that God will allow them to purchase this house. It will be a wonderful way for them to start their family, and I want nothing more than my sister to be HAPPY! She deserves all the happiness in the world, and I mean that. :)
After that, we went home(our separate ways) and I studied for a good 3 1/2 hours for my two finals(that I have today. One down, one more at NOON!) Then, momma and I ordered pizza and watch "Easy A". :) I love that movie so much, and I'm once again blessed to be able to spend afternoons with my momma like I do.

Yesterday, I had a long shift at work(which I'm not 100% complaining about) in which it was uber slow! Not a fan of slow days where the times DRAGS on...
After the shift, I hurried my way to Travis Avenue Baptist...for my cousins Spring Showcase(for Travis Academy of Fine Arts). As much as I love my cousins, and I do...I feel as though since, I'm older...I'm critiquing every little thing now.  So many of those students have been told they are the best thing since sliced bread...but in all honesty...some of them...aren't that amazing. I was more impressed with the music portion of the showcase than I was of the singing...which in all honesty was MOST of the showcase. I couldn't handle watching the Jazz Choir, because certain members were WAY to into what they were doing. They need to remember there is a difference in concert performance and ACTING performance. It was almost unbearable to try and watch them sing. My cousin was in that group and I couldn't even WATCH her because I wanted to scream at the two girls who were driving me crazy! I know I'm probably over critical...but yeesh.
There were three groups I absolutely LOVED. The Fiddle Group, the Irish Dancers, and the Jazz Band. All three groups were.... phenomenal. I was blown away by how marvelous they were. Sometimes I think I was born in the wrong country because I am absolutely mesmerized by fiddles and Celtic sounding music. I could literally listen to it for hours, along with watching Irish dance(mainly because I used to be a dancer and wish I hadn't stopped).
After the show ended we went to Cici's Pizza, where insanity ensued from all the children...and let's face it...teenagers act like they are between the ages of 5-10 when they are out in public most times. It's excruciating to sit there with them yelling...thinking they OWN the place you are at. Makes me wonder how they were raised sometimes...but then again...I was a teen once...I'm hoping I was NEVER that bad.

TODAY.... I finished my Art Appreciation final at 8:52 am(it started at 8:00 am) and I think I did a pretty good job on it. I'm hoping I at least got an A so that will keep my grade in the class at an A. I'm pushing for a 4.0 GPA this semester. It's the first time EVER that I've done this good in college, and I'm so proud of myself that I have ALL A's in my classes(NEVER happened...except for kindergarten-2nd grade) My US History through 1876 starts in less than 2 hours and I think I'm going to do well on that also. I HAVE to make an A on the final to make an A in the class. I know I can do it, as long as I take my time and re-check my answers... or actually think hard enough..because USUALLY when you change our answers, you are changing the RIGHT answer to the WRONG answer. lol
After that final, I'm going to have lunch with nana and papa, head home to let our my little ones(my dogs), after that getting my hair trimmed(so it's all the same length or at least closer to it), THEN going to pick up my sister from work. :)
Today...is also the 7 year anniversary of my cousin's death. I know I'll NEVER be able to forget this date.. ever. It doesn't feel as though it's been 7 years either. Brantly...he was more than my cousin...he was more like the brother I never had and I miss him everyday. There are days were I still think I can call him, then it hits me like a hammer that he isn't here. I wasn't as close to him as some  of my other family members...but in those last four years he was here, we were the closest we had been since Elementary school. I  know he is in heaven with God, and that gets me through the day sometimes...but the days where I wish he was here to help me through dilemmas I've gotten myself into...those days... I'm mad and bitter...those are not GOOD days.
I know I'll be with him one day, and that's what I ALWAYS remind myself(even on those bad days)

WOW, this is a LONG blog entry...sorry about that. Hope you enjoyed the short story here. haha.

I remember why....

Well hello world.
I was going to try and write yesterday...but the timing just didn't work out.
Work was...well somewhat boring yesterday, that I can not lie about. As much as I love my job, the pay isn't worth it at all. I'm not NOT allowed to get more than 26 hours a week....and THAT is not ok. I was SUPPOSED to be getting a promotion, but when our store manager left...so did the chance to get one. So NOW, I'm looking for a job that I get paid more for, so I can move out.
As much as I LOVE living with my momma, and I do...don't get me wrong...I would LOVE to be out on my own. The only good thing with this job...is the hours are so out of whack that I can write more this summer. Which is what I want to do...but which do I want more? My own place...or to finish my novel? The answer is clear to me. Finish my novel...especially since my Papa, told me I have a true gift and I need to follow it. :)

I however, don't see how I can't have both. You know? I don't see why I can't have a well paying job, where I can be on my own, AND finish my novel. *sigh* I guess it's just not what God wants for me right now...and I'm alright with it...I think.

Momma, Monique and I had a girls night last night! :) The three of us haven't had one of those in awhile and I truly missed going out with just the three of us. We went and saw "Something Borrowed" and it was a cute/funny movie. I enjoyed it a great deal. I needed a good laugh after the day I had at work.
In less than two weeks my ALL time favorite movie franchise is having it's fourth installment...and I'm so excited and can't wait to see it at midnight! :) What else could I be talking about but PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN!!! :D

I NOW remember why I don't like going to Studio Movie Grill in Arlington! The people there...or the people who go there...are HORRIBLE! I had my car kicked by two different people, because when I was stopped and then no one was coming...they popped off the curb then decided to yell and kick my car...I will not reveal the race...but I was NOT happy and wanted to hurt someone! I'm sticking with Movie Tavern on 7th for the time being THAT is for sure! :D

I have work 1:30-close today, which means I don't have time to go buy my momma anything...except for maybe a card... but I think I'm going to try and write something for her...or dedicate one of my writings to her...she has literally been my rock and my biggest fan ever since I can remember. I know EVERYONE says they have the best mom, but honestly...mine is beyond the best. I love her so much, and I feel like there isn't enough I can do to repay her for all she has done for me...so I'm going to write something especially for her...not quite sure what it's going to be as of this moment...but I know it will come to me. Whether it's a short story, a letter, or something. I don't know.

Well I guess that's all I have to say for today! Everyone have a beautiful Saturday and enjoy it!

One week left....

HOLY MOLEY!

Finals week is NEARLY here, and then done for the semester. :)

I feel like this semester seriously flew on by and now...I'm looking forward to the fall semester, since I will NOT be going to summer school. I enjoy my summers off and seeing films/swimming/writing in my free time. :) Who wouldn't like to summers off. I mean COME ON! :P
My all time favorite  movie franchise is coming out with another movie on the 20th of May, and I'm super DUPER excited(cue lisp) lol Then my SECOND favorite movie franchise is ending this summer on the 15th of July. I"m quite sad about it, but I can ALWAYS re-watch them. :)

Sitting in Creative Writing at this precise moment and enjoying how crazy our class has already been, and it's only been 9 minutes. lol Gotta love us crazy creative people. ;] I guess I should pay attention so I will go. Hope everyone is enjoying this BEAUTIFUL day, and we are about to go OUTSIDE for class and finish...and get FREE snow cones. DAY MADE!!

25 and losing my mind

Well my birthday has come and gone along with Easter. I've realized how much being 25 is forcing me even more to grow up. I've done a great deal of growing up in the last year, however it would seem I still have a large amount to do.
My job... I love my job...but I had my hopes up for a promotion that I was told I would get...and now that my store manager has LEFT and started a new job...it would seem it was all talk. My hopes of moving out within the next couple months have been demolished.
I'm so utterly lonely and wish I had someone/a man I could talk to besides my best friend in Idaho/Washington. I know I should be happy with being alone... and I AM...but it would be NICE to have someone to share my dreams with besides my family and friends. You know?

My last day of the semester is the 12th..which is a week and two days away! It's absolutely insane how quickly the time has passed this semester. I'm making all A's at the present time...and I hope to have a 4.0 for my semester. I know I can do it...I just have to have that kind of positive attitude, which is hard for me. lol
May is going to be a fun filled month of movie time and family/friend time. Summer is right around the corner and that means swimming and movies CONSTANTLY! :)
I guess that's all I have to say right now, I'll write more later, OH, and I'm going to be adding another blog... under a pen name, for my Creative Writing class, showcasing my writing. So if ANYONE wants to read my short stories, you can.
Everyone have a splendid day. :)
